All the important information about booking, preparing for, and enjoying your luxury golf safari with us.
For many travel dates that lie far in the future, you can make a non-binding advance booking. To do this, click on the “Book in advance now” button in the trip’s schedule list. We will reserve a spot for you on the trip and contact you no later than 2 months before departure, once the flight prices are confirmed. You will then receive a non-binding reservation with the latest details about the trip. Only after your confirmation will the booking become binding. If your travel wishes change in the meantime, we would appreciate a short message.
Yes — Free reservation option: You can reserve a trip at no cost and without obligation.
• The reservation is valid for seven days.
• If you don’t cancel within those seven days, the reservation automatically becomes a binding booking.
• Once converted, we will send you a written booking confirmation within ten days.
• You must cancel in writing before the seven-day period ends.
• We send an email reminder before the period expires to help you avoid missing the deadline.
Bank Transfer: Pay both the deposit and the remaining balance by transferring to the 1Media T/A Elephants & Eagles Golf Safaris account. Include your customer number and booking reference.
Credit Card: You can pay with MasterCard, Visa, or American Express. Both deposit and remaining balance can be settled this way. The payment form link is provided on your invoice and in your login area.
Payment Deadlines:
• Deposit: 50% of the trip price, due at booking.
• Remaining balance: Due 4 weeks before departure.
• Short-term bookings (<4 weeks before departure): Full payment is required immediately.
Why it matters: The full amount must be paid on time so we can send your travel documents early enough. This ensures smooth preparation and avoids last-minute issues.
London Heathrow Airport is included by default for all bookings that include a scheduled long-haul flight — at no extra cost.
Connecting flights to Heathrow from other airports in the UK or Europe are at your cost and responsibility to book.
For all trips, flights are booked with renowned, established airlines (not charter or budget carriers).
Your safety is very important to us — airline selection focuses on reliability and passenger security.
The planned airlines for long-haul, regional, and domestic routes are specified in the list of services for each trip.
You can choose from the remaining available seats free of charge once the airline’s online check-in opens (typically 23–48 hours before departure, depending on the airline).
At that point, seat choice may be limited as many seats could already be reserved.
Accommodations are booked well in advance to secure availability.
In rare cases where the intended hotel has no rooms available for your dates, we will book a comparable alternative accommodation and place the original hotel on a waiting list.
No, we are not a travel agent or insurer. Travel insurance is your responsibility (as stated in our Terms & Conditions).
Yes — you can specify dietary preferences or needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies, etc.) directly during the booking process.
We forward these details to our local partners (hotels, restaurants, tour operators) to make arrangements in advance.
While we do everything possible to accommodate your needs, we cannot guarantee 100% fulfilment due to local availability variations.
Yes — you can combine two (or more) golfing trips if you wish.
The MyGolfingsa portal gives you centralized access — anywhere, anytime — to everything related to your trip.
Registered guests can view:
• All booked trips
• Personalized travel documents
• Itineraries, visa documents, country information, entry requirements, flight schedules
• Direct connection to the right contact persons for questions
Current entry requirements (visa regulations, health documents, other formalities) are listed in the “Overview” section at the bottom of each trip description on our website.
Detailed visa information for your nationality is included in the digital travel documents you receive after booking.
UK Residents: Do not require a visa to visit South Africa.
The names of all guests must match **exactly** the machine-readable line of the passport or ID card used at registration.
Airlines require exact name matches. Even small spelling errors can lead to:
• Costly rebooking fees
• Boarding denial in the worst case
Any correction costs must be borne by the traveler.
All cancellations follow the conditions in our General Terms and Conditions.
The later you cancel, the higher the fees; earlier notification reduces costs.
We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance — in most cases it covers cancellation fees.
Luggage allowance follows the rules of the airlines used (international + domestic).
Typical allowance: 20–23 kg checked luggage + one piece of hand luggage.
We arrange special golf bag transport.
Special rules may apply for small aircraft, boat transfers, or remote lodges — details are in your personal travel documents received after booking.
You will be notified by email when documents are ready for download in your MyGolfingsa login area.
Final travel documents are sent no later than two weeks before departure and include:
• Exact flight schedule
• Updated itinerary details (any refinements or changes)
Our tour guides are the heart of every journey.
They bring deep knowledge, years of experience, and a strong personal connection to the areas they guide.
Many are born in the region or have lived there long-term, providing authentic insights.
They take you off the typical tourist paths for genuine, unforgettable encounters.
Yes — every traveler receives a **24/7 emergency hotline** number in their travel documents. Help is available at any time, regardless of time zone.
Many meals and key experiences are included in the base price (see service overview of your trip).
Additional personal expenses typically include:
• Drinks
• Tips
• Optional activities not in the standard program
• Souvenirs, extra meals, personal spending
No fixed seats in our luxury buses.
We recommend rotating seats daily.
Benefits: Everyone gets different views, the journey feels more varied, and it ensures fairness — no one always has the “best” or “worst” seat.
The tour leader and driver play a key role — they appreciate a cash tip (local currency, USD or EUR).
Guideline:
• ≈ £5 per person per day for the tour leader/guide
• ≈ £3 per person per day for the driver
Guests often collect amounts in envelopes and present them at farewell.
Hotel staff and local assistants should also be tipped.
In many cases the tour leader collects a lump sum at the start into a tip pool and distributes it fairly — so you don’t need to worry during the trip.
Report immediately to the responsible airline at the arrival airport (Lost-and-Found desk).
Airlines must issue:
• Lost Report (missing luggage)
• Property Irregularity Report – PIR (damaged luggage)
Without this written confirmation, compensation claims are usually rejected — so documenting the issue right away is essential.
Outside the EU: switch off data roaming to avoid high charges.
Most accommodations we use offer free Wi-Fi.
Alternative: buy a local SIM card (often available online before departure) for affordable mobile data during your trip.
